777 Chakra Workship — Root Chakra

Muladhara

“No tree, it is said, can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell.”

— Carl Jung

In our quest for spiritual enlightenment, we come across the Chakras, and we wish to deeply understand them on a symbolic level.  In understanding the symbolic nature of the Chakras, we uncover the subconscious codes that bring about self-realization.  The Chakras are spinning wheels of energy located in our subtle body, they represent symbolism and gateways to a deeper understanding of our consciousness.

The Muladhara Chakra or Root Chakra can be seen as an anchor or a deep root, now to some that may be seen as something to hold you back, but on the contrary, our roots allow us to grow and expand.  The root chakra controls the lower body and its functioning, starting with the feet.  The feet are always connected to the ground, even when they are not its only temporary.  Scientists call this phenomenon gravity.   This connection to earth is the gateway to understanding our conscious worlds as it relates to our instinct and desires.  Since our instincts and desires are unconscious, the conscious world is there to reflect the things we need to work on.   Muladhara is a compound word, with Mula meaning root, and Adhara meaning foundation.   So when contemplating the foundation of a house, you recognize its importance for the overall structure and integrity of the building, even though it gets little credit.  That is a way of looking at the Root Chakra.  It represents the womb, the lowest part of the spinal column, the foundation for all life.

The Muladhara Chakra is the house of Shakti Kundalini Energy.  Shakti is a sleeping snake at the base of your spine, if you want to work with the chakra’s and achieve your own self-realization, you must be ready to deal with the truth of your past lives.  The unhappiness or happiness of life lies within the root chakra.  Understand why they say ‘ignorance is bliss’ and ‘the truth hurts’.  When Shakti is asleep at the base of the spine she is seen as a peaceful snake, but when it awakens it can be seen as menacing and poisonous.  The Root Chakra is a closed door, and you can choose to keep it closed if you’re not ready to see the truth.  The darkness has to be brought to light so it can be purified and restored.  Working with the Root Chakra is purifying deep subconscious beliefs and clearing all past obstacles.  It is all about establishing clarity,  so can move forward with true enlightenment.  Life is not completely about what you do, a lot of times its what you don’t do that is important.  In not clearing your subtle body of past life karma, you are doing yourself a disservice spiritually.  In this life we want to remove any tension and blockages, also we want to awaken any dormant energies in our Root Chakra.  We awaken these dormant energies and let them rise to the surface. 70ca4bcfafd07879191a22ba2218c29c

One of the symbols of the Root Chakra is Ganesha the elephant.  The elephant is the most powerful land animal and is forever connected to the earth.  Ganesha represents the beginning of all blessings, power, and obstacle removal.  When we talk about the Root Chakra, we are also talking about roots of your existence as it relates to your experience now.  The cause of your being, the seed, the reason for self-realization.

“Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”  — Matthew 17:20

Working with the Muladhara Chakra means we have to understand and transmute the deep hurts and disappointments and bring them to the surface for healing.  Understanding that these things are transitions and time for learning.  Realizing that problems will always be there and it is not a nuisance and misfortune, but a time to teach and learn.  Understanding that not clearing past life karma of the unconscious variety we repeat our instincts and desires over and over again.  Clarity allows us to see weakness and energy to build our strength.  Insecurity and inferiority complexes could never help us, they only rob us of our energy.

Working with the Chakras is the beginning of working with our psychic functions, awakening them.  The mind, intellect, consciousness, and ego.  These are the four petals of the lotus of the Root Chakra named Mula Kamala. The mind is our memories and thoughts.  The intellect is our understanding of a particular subject.  Our consciousness is the knowing part of our being, the things we know of ourselves.  The ego is the I, the person, you.  These four petals are the four markers that make us human beings.  The roots travel back many lifetimes and they all converge to be the flower which is you.  The Lotus Flower grows in muddy water with deep roots, but the blossom is clear above water.  The water is the illusion of everything you can’t be, the flower is the human.  Somehow we will rise above it, like the lotus.

Understanding psychic energy is understanding the subtle body.  In some circles, it is called the true body or light body.  It is the spiritual energy that controls the physical body.  That is your mind, intelligence, consciousness, and ego.   Understanding the different parts of your psyche and waking up the dormant energies at the base of your spine will bring about the solutions and answers for your salvation and clarity.  The Root Chakra is a reminder that we are always connected to the source.  It is the beginning of our spiritual enlightenment.  Feelings of lack and inequality will soon be corrected when properly working with the Root Chakra.
