Awakening you to the Archetypal Movement during the week ahead. The purpose of this blog is to make you aware of the energy available astrologically, for the purpose of spiritual and personal development.
On March 31st, 2018, we will have a Full Moon at 10° Libra, a full moon occurs when the Sun is Opposite the Moon. This the second moon in the month of March, when this occurs colloquially this is called a “blue” moon. Not because the moon is blue but it is from the word belewe, ‘to betray’.
The original meaning would then have been “betrayer moon”, referring to a full moon that would “normally” (in years without an intercalary month) be the full moon of spring, while in an intercalary year, it was “traitorous” in the sense that people would have had to continue fasting for another month in accordance with the season of Lent.
There is also a T-square to Mars conjunct Saturn in Sagittarius. A T-square occurs when three planets form a 90-degree angle, creating three squares, which present challenges in our experience. This will be a Cardinal T Square since the planets involved are Libra, Aries, and Capricorn. The challenge is learning how to work together, with ourselves and our environment. There is also a Mercury retrograde Opposite the Full Moon, so this puts immense pressure on our identity, minds, and the words we choose. This is a time of belief, generally, we can believe positively or negatively, with just as much fervor, and create miraculous or disastrous results.
Since the Full Moon takes place at the 10th Degree of Libra, let us discuss this point. The 10-degree mark for Libra speaks to relationships, as well as independence, idealism, courage, and sometimes arrogance. On the Aries side of things the 10-degree marks things such as gullibility, romance, too good to be true because it is, affairs, and changes. So ultimately this is a relationship test. The constellation of Libra deals with relationships, the second decan is ruled by Uranus/Saturn, representing ultimately karmic bonds. Shifts and changes will happen during this full moon, based on the fact that the Sun is shining through to your subconscious (moon) in this area of thought. It does not matter if you are single, or in a relationship, this applies to whatever the issues you may have in this realm (relationships), so let it come to the surface and heal it.
The straining conflicting energy will be based on the conjunction between Mars and Saturn in Capricorn. Karma is often unagreeable yet unavoidable. All of these energies produce reactions based on your awareness. Negative thought processes create negative realities, and that is always our responsibility to adjust. The reality is if we don’t take responsibility for our thoughts, planets like Saturn are always there to remind us. This is not completely resulted in negativity, Saturn can also reward and bring success and riches, but not like in a wish upon a star kind of way. Always a positive thing to do with an abundance of Mars energy is to find a creative outlet or workout. Generally burning this energy brings about material results in direct or indirect ways. Energy is to be used, not just observed. Mars is the strongest in Capricorn, so this represents a window of really getting some things done. Things that require hard work and endurance. The idea of being independent will be fully exposed as in sickness, weird turns of events, or depression. These things will require you to reach out to others based on need. A need that was always there. So be mindful if you are under the assumption that you can do it all by yourself. Saturn is the Lord of Karma, in other words, you can lie to Hood Mystic but you can’t lie to Saturn. Mars symbolizes action, motivation, inspiration, and desire. The idea is to properly channel this energy into fruitful endeavors rather than wasteful ones.
The sign opposite Aries is Libra, the sign of diplomacy. Libra people want to generate peace in their surroundings. Libra is the sign associated with the significant other and with the need to create relationships. Libras are constantly considering what will make them happy in relation to what will make their partners happy. They are often willing to compromise their own positions in search of that illusive point of harmony, of equilibrium.
When a T-Square intensifies the skies, we are forced to make a decision, get off the fence and stop procrastinating. Unpleasant scenarios we’ve been avoiding may demand our attention, like chickens coming home to roost. T-Square energy can be forceful and unstoppable—a bit ruthless.
Jupiter in Scorpio will be sextiling Pluto in Capricorn. This aspect represents an opportunity and a change of environment, especially if you are looking to exert any power over your life. It may be that you are in the wrong location, look for opportunities that require moving and realigning with your soul. Follow your soul/heart, do what feels right instead of thinking yourself out of it. Follow the money as well, in search of financial improvement, you may not be in the best spot for you, be open to opportunities elsewhere. This is an inner game as well, it’s important to be open to change and better situations. Let’s be open to receive and open to change, change for the better.
Full Moon in Libra is not a comfortable moon, its unsure of itself and may be too concerned what others think. Are you succeeding for you or for what others may think of you? Don’t reach over and beyond for love and relationships, the energy is speaking to you overcompensating rather than creating true love bonds. Let’s not forget to factor that there is a Mercury retrograde opposite this Full Moon, which creates conflict naturally, serving yourself eases the conflict. We have a Double Square(The Moon & The Sun) to a Mars/Saturn conjunction so the conflicts can show up as communication miscues, affairs, and what you need to do vs what you want to do. Expect things to come to the surface during this Full Moon phase. Don’t expect to fall in love with someone you know is not right for you, to work out favorably, understand the energy is showing you something about yourself that you need to work on, not embrace.
Full Moons bring things to the surface that need to be purged and released, be mindful of the things you need and don’t need, and focus on the things you plan to bring to a relationship. If the energy confuses you or baffles you the best thing to do is to fall back and let things blow over. Be mindful of being seduced and forced into situations you really don’t want to be in, situations you will later regret. Ultimately a time for personal power and growth, addressing how you relate to others is the key to understanding this Full Moon transit.
Orisha Of The Week
Oba is the Orisha of marriage and personal transformation, which makes her related to Libra the house of partnership. Oba is the very first wife of Shango, she was the ideal wife until she was tricked by her sister Oya. After being embarrassed and kicked out the kingdom she fled to the cemetery where she went through a personal transformation into her true power. We learn the most about ourselves through our relationships whether business or personal. These partnerships enhance our lives, make them worth living. Oba is the Orisha of the home but at the same time, she has fierce support and love for her husband even if it puts her in danger. In this feminist society, it is no wonder she is not as popular of an Orisha as Oshun or Oya. She represents feminine duty of the wife and mother, I personally do not see anything wrong with that. She creates new pathways that have not been invented that gives you respect and the ability to provide for your family. Oba is patient and a teacher. Her color is pink, burgundy, and red. She is a fighter and a warrior, she is also a protector. She is teaching us how to transmute our pain to become our highest self through our relationships. Oba is available.
