New Moon in Gemini
On June 13th, 2018 there will be a New Moon in the constellation of Gemini at 22°. The 22nd Degree mark of Gemini speaks to understanding blocks in your personal life. These blocks may be from people or situations that are extremely close to home, now that you are seeing these blocks are you willing to make the necessary changes or simply feel down because you notice them. There are areas in our life where we may have been ignorant and now are being highlighted to be addressed. It’s important to fight against injustices as opposed to finding comfort in an imaginary neutrality that truly does not exist. This New Moon cycle will no doubt usher in changes in the collective and the individual so it is best to understand these changes.
This New Moon is when the Sun and Moon are conjunct every 28 days or so. This New Moon happens in the third decan of the sign of Gemini. The third decan of Gemini is ruled by Uranus, so having a New Moon there it would be best to focus on the changes that need to be made in your life. This is not a time to get attached to things or to search for comforts. Ultimately there comes a time when we have to address things in our lives, a New Moon in Gemini is a perfect time for that. Stay in tune to your core and really focus on the things that you want and need to do. There may be some obstacles or roadblocks to attaining what you desire, these are the things that will come up during this New Moon in Gemini, in order for you to change it.
Working with this New Moon provides the individual with insight into the things that one has to change to become what he truly desires. The downside to this work is that it will show you exactly what you need to change, it won’t actually do the work for you, that is the individual’s job. But understanding what is happening astrologically can explain why these things are unfolding the way that they are.
Mars in Aquarius conjunct South Node | Karmic Break
The New Moon in Gemini will feature Mars conjunct South Node in Aquarius. The South Node represents the Karmic past life or past experiences of the collective. Having Mars conjunct the South Node places action towards the shifts that need to happen to bring some clarity to our present Karma and unify our Nodes to get a clear vision of our future. Mars in Aquarius is very intense and is wanting some form of independence for the cause of truth. This is a no-compromise zone for your internal desires. It wants what it wants. This is a perfect time for innovation and overall liberation. Mars in Aquarius wants you to break from all limits from now and until November 2018 when it enters Pisces and it gets an upgrade to Spiritual Warrior. Don’t take No for an answer when it comes to your Soul’s Urge.
New Moon in Gemini inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn
This placement speaks to understanding transformation. The transformation we speak of is also in scale depending on the individual. This could be in the form of bad habits, this could be relationships, jobs/career, or place of residence. There needs to be a change in one or more of these areas for you to grow to the level that you are destined to grow. Pluto is your hidden wealth, the god of the underworld, Hades. An inconjunction ultimately means a misunderstanding. The New Moon in Gemini as we stated earlier refers to understanding blocks in your personal life. So putting this together, we are trying to understand our personal blocks to our greater wealth. This may show up as a mini-crisis internally or as an external event. It’s important to address it as opposed to finding comfort in a false neutrality. Bruised Egos and conflict may be highlighted during this New Moon.
Understanding Pluto in Capricorn
Pluto in Capricorn represents an ascension to understanding. A symbol of Pluto in Capricorn would be a volcano. Ultimately handling the change that comes with spiritual realization. This energy thus causes revolutions and sweeping changes. Whether it was the ushering of the Holy Roman Empire in the 8th Century by Charlemagne, The spread of the Vikings in the 11th century, and the last time Pluto was in Capricorn we were ushering the Colonial era from 1762 -1778. Pluto in Capricorn represents a time of action, if you have higher ideals one cannot ignore those ideals forever if one has not lived towards those ideals than Pluto is there to redirect you back towards those initial ideals. It is time to change direction and lead yourself towards your soul. Pluto in Capricorn speaks to major adjustments or be in danger of extinction. So like a volcano that wiped out civilizations but also provided a fertile land to begin a new civilization, it’s important to realize that this is a natural part of life.
Neptune in Pisces trine Jupiter in Scorpio
During this New Moon, we are still experiencing the effects of Neptune trine Jupiter aspect. The New Moon squares Neptune in Pisces. While Neptune in Pisces is favorable, understanding the dark side of our spiritual nature may be tough for some of us. The dualistic nature of our impulses and motives if not checked may cause us to believe things that are too good to be true. The New Moon will be inconjunct Jupiter in Scorpio, which is pushing us to understand the deeper things that really have to be transformed (Pluto rules Scorpio), for our greatest expansion. Jupiter and Neptune are trine so this is providing assistance with information to help you through this examining time. So essentially, knowledge is power when it comes to what may be happening to you internally and even externally. My advice would be to speak up and say things that you are going through because you may not know who identifies in your struggle and/or could possibly give you resources or help to get you through whatever you are experiencing.
New Moon Summary and What it Means
Even though this is a personal time in astrology the changes you make in your personal life will have reverberating effects through the collective. The reality is that we all can make a difference. Its overall based on your mood, your modd will set the tone. It’s important if you don’t understand the power of your mood to do some research. This is a moon more tailored to personal success over relationships. With the influence of the Mars and South Node, there will be some Karmic breaks because Mars is really striving towards independence. Generally, relationships and energy during this time is fated and comes full of lessons, don’t let your heart or head get ahead of your good sense. Stay focused on the work that you need to do, I imagine a lot of things will show up in the form of void fillers, and void fillers are temporary at best, it is better to do the longterm inner work that will set you up for lifetime worth of healing.
Orisha of the Week — Aganjú
In honoring of the Orishas we want to bring up a Deity of great antiquity Aganju representing the land/earth and the Creator of civilization. The word Aganju means desert, probably speaking to the fact that this Deity is not used much anymore. He is identified as Shango’s older brother or even father. As ancient and powerful as Shango is the energy of Aganju is more ancient and more powerful. Aganjú is associated with volcanoes, the foundation of societies that are built and is the catalyst for all civilization. He is known for assisting humans in overcoming great physical and psychological barriers. Aganju is known for his legendary strength and his ability to bring about drastic change. In Cuba, he is known to have delivered many people out of bondage and is known to carry the heaviest of burdens. As the Lord of Caves, he owns all mineral wealth and can be appealed to with some. Ultimately Aganju is the bearer of burdens, the defender of the helpless, downtrodden and enslaved. Aganju is a major symbol of African resistance and can be used now if you feel persecuted against or marginalized. Aganju is depicted as a rough giant that has no rhythm when dancing, when in fact he is one of the most docile, humble and generous Orisha.
Tubal Cain has been considered among Masons as a symbol of worldly possessions. “The Mason must follow in the footsteps of his forefather, Tubal-Cain, who with the mighty strength of the war god hammered his sword into a plowshare.” This is basically saying that ones central thought should be on how to enlarge his reach and expand to others as opposed to simply thinking about yourself. Tubal Cain was the inventor of forging metals and making weapons and tools, this allowed humanity to expand from small tribal villages to large civilizations. Tubal which metaphysically means leading, conducting, bringing forth. Cain metaphysically means smith or expert. Together they meant worldly possessions, mineral principle, and physical power. Tubal Cain and Aganju are essentially the same root, primal. ancient energy that is now awakening on the planet and available for anyone that chooses to access it.
